Event Description

The Intro to Home Canning class is for both anyone who is new to canning with zero experience and anyone who is needing a refresher on current practices. Registration is required but there is no registration limit.

Home canning has changed over the last 200 years. Scientists have found ways to produce safer, higher quality products, including the design of better home canning equipment and supplies. This class will discuss the most up-to-date, research-based recommendations for home canning. Topics will include jars and equipment, filling, processing (both water bath and pressure canning processes), frequently asked questions, and troubleshooting advice for the newest of canners. This class is perfect for the beginner canner with zero experience or the experienced canner that wants a refresher, and everyone in between!

Join Natalie Taul, Grayson County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences on June 13th at 1:00pm CT via Zoom for Intro to Home Canning. Join from anywhere!
