Event Description
As the summer heat begins to mellow into the crisp hints of fall, and our gardens start to wind down, it’s time to figure out what we will do with all of the produce we’ve harvested. While canning is always effective for this purpose, sometimes it is not the best method for the type of produce or is more time-consuming than helpful. In these cases, there is another great method of food preservation: freezing. Freezing is a very easy and convenient method of food preservation, helping to extend shelf life of a wide variety of foods without compromising their quality or nutritional value.
This class will discuss proper freezing techniques and will even allow participants to practice their new knowledge on corn and peppers. No experience or prior knowledge is needed to attend, so this class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn better methods of food preservation.
