Hay Sampling Program - October 7 & 8, 2019

Open to Grayson County Residents

First 25 people will receive FREE samples.  There will be a $25 fee for samples AFTER the first 25.

Agent will contact farmers to set up visits before program.

Classes held on Tuesday's beginning at 5:30 p.m., CST, on the following schedule:

October 15 - Sheep & Goat Industry in KY, Marketing Tips, Understanding Market Reports

October 22 - Breeds of Sheep & Goats, Facilities & Fencing, Guardian Animals

October 29 - Health Management, Foot Rot & Hoof Trimming, Reading Feed Tag, Nutrient Requirements

November 5 - Feeding Needs, Quality Assurance, Parasite Management

November 12 - Reproduction, Genetics & Selection, Birthing Difficulties

November 19 - Care for Newborns, Mating Systems, Annual Prodution Systems

The Grayson County Farmer's Market is Open!

The Farmer's Market is now open for business with fresh, home-grown produce!  Market vendors are selling at the Indian Hills Shopping Center parking lot location on Mill Street in Leitchfield, off of HIghway 62.  Market selling days are on Wednesday's & Saturday's from 6:30 a.m. to sell out, which is generally by 12:00 noon. All growers at the Market are registered with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture & sell Kentucky Proud products.  Their farms have been inspected for cleanliness, proper handling of foods & they are producing their vegetables as natural as possible.  Both Senior & WIC Vouchers are accepted at the Grayson County Farmer's Market.
