Rifle Club: What Should I Know?

What Do We Do?

Provide youth the opportunity to participate in a sport they can compete in and enjoy for a lifetime. Introduce youth to proper gun safety by teaching 4-H range safety rules. Provide youth the opportunities to build confidence and courage. Attend shooting sports competitions on both county and state levels.

What Will I Need?

All participants must have eye and ear protection. Rifle ownership is not required, but it is  encouraged. A limited amount of firearms and ammo will be available for individuals who do not own a firearm.

Time Commitment?

The club usually practices every Saturday at 6:00 p.m.. Members can choose to participate in the State 4-H Shooting Sports competition or shooting competitions in surrounding counties, depending on member interest. All competitions will have specific time requirements. Club members will be required to participate in occasional club fundraisers to help raise money to pay for club expenses.

What Should Parents Know?

  • No experience is necessary.
  • Club membership is free.
  • We provide all targets and facilities.
  • For safety, there is always a certified coach on the range during practices.
