Sewing Club: What Should I Know?

What Do We Do?

  • Teach members basic sewing techniques.
  • Members start off at a low skill level and gradually increase in skill based on their learning ability.
  • Provide members with expert guidance.Provide youth the opportunity to sew projects they can use in everyday life.

What Will I Need?

Members will need to bring fabric, thread, patterns, and a folder. Sewing machines and other sewing supplies will be provided for use at meetings.

Time Commitment?

The Sewing Club usually meets on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Grayson County Extension Office. Club members are required to attend weekly meetings.

What Should Parents Know?

  • Some projects will require parents to purchase and bring thread, fabric, patterns, etc.
  • Sewing machine ownership is not required.
  • A meeting is held at the beginning of the club year and parents are expected to attend.
  • Parents are not required to attend during regular meetings.
