Canning with Kids

July 8  - Jams & Jellies - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

July 23 - Salsa - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Kids 7 years & older can learn about food preservation in this hands-on learning opportunity.  Kids must be accompanied by an adult & both the parent & child will participate in the fun.  In each class you'll learn proper food handling, knife skills, how to preserve foods & the science behind canning.  Only one child per adult.  Only 10 adult/child pairs per session.  Advance registration is required by calling (270) 259-3492. 

 

Crafting for a Cause - Making Lap Quilts

Held Saturday, June 29th at the Extension Office from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Learn to make lap quilts to be donated to Grayson Manor at this free class that is open to the public, & brought to you by the Live @5 Homemaker Club as part of their community service project.  Advanced registration is required by calling (270) 259-3492.  Supply list includes 1 yard 44" wide top fabric, 1 yard 44" wide backing fabric, 1 bag low loft batting 45x60, thread, safety pins & scissors.  


Get Moving Grayson County - FitBlue Challenge

Download the NEW FitBlue app for the Get Moving Grayson County - FitBlue Challenge!  The app will track your movement & eating, improve your mindfulness, & give you activity & meal suggestions.  Reister by midnight July 7 to participate. 

Kick-Off Event will be held June 27th at Leitchfield City Park Pavilion, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Join us for health & wellness booths, snacks, door prizes & training on the Fitblue app.  There will be a recorded version of the training on our Facebook page on July 3rd.
