If you're limiting the number of trips you take to the grocery, then I'm sure you've already been digging through your pantry!  Join Robin Burton, Grayson County Nutrition Educator, at 12:00 p.m. for a new virtual class series to learn more about making meals with what you already have in your pantry.  This closed group class series is by invitation only, so you must RSVP via email to Robin at robin.burton@uky.edu to receive your attendance invitation.  Once registered, you will receive an email with information about the class and how to join via Zoom.  At class time you will click on the Zoom link and follow the prompts.  There's no cost and no special programs to download.  Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing program that can be used with various mobile devices and personal computers.

Join the Live @5 Homemaker Club & the Extension Office in the 5th Saturday - Fair Series.
This series of free classes is designed to teach crafts that can be entered in the Grayson
County Fair.  All classes will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Extension Office. Call (270) 259-3492

Cooking through the Calendar - March, April & May Cancelled

Robin Felix will teach a new class series that will be held each month throughout the 2020 year.  The first class in the series will be held on January 8th at 5:00 p.m., CST.  The series will feature a new recipe each month from the University of Kentucky’s 2020 Food and Nutrition Calendar.  Each recipe is geared toward nutrition, and healthier versions of well balanced meals. You will receive a copy of the 2020 Food and Nutrition Calendar and a free gift for every session you attend! 

2020 class dates are: 

January 8, February 12, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9,

October 14, November 11, and December 9. 

Homebased Microprocessor Workshop

The Extension Office will host a videotaped Homebased Microprocessor Workshop on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., CST, for those interested in becoming certified.  Homebased Microprocessors are required to grow a predominant ingredient in their value-added products.  This certification will allow producers to sell products such as canned tomatoes & tomato products, pickled fruits & vegetables, salsa, barbecue sauce, pepper & herb jellies, pressure-canned vegetables and low or no-sugar jams & jellies.  To register or for more information call Annhall Norris at (859) 257-1812 or visit
